Farm2Chef seeks local foodies
The third annual Farm2Chef Challenge is accepting applications from local chefs and foodies to create a delicious dish featuring local ingredients. The Farm2Chef Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Silver City Farmers’ Market.
Participants in the Farm2Chef Challenge must use at least five ingredients from Grant County or farms within 100 miles of Silver City. A three judge panel with score dishes based on taste, plating, creativity, and use of local ingredients. The winner will be publically recognized as the top local food chef of 2012 and receive the coveted copper skillet trophy. If interested in participating in the 2012 Farm2Chef Challenge contact A.J. Sandoval, Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities coordinator, at (575) 388-1198 or email asandoval@grmc.org by September 12, 2012, with a list of local ingredients used in the dish and where they were obtained.
Farm2Chef is sponsored by the Green Chamber of Commerce local food committee, the Silver City Food Cooperative, the Silver City Farmer’s Market and Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Grant County.
