Bilingual Storytelling2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Bring the family and enjoy a bilingual story read by retired educator Maria Vigil. Story time will be at 2 pm at the Museum. Ms. Vigil will read Calling the Doves/ El canto de las Palomas.
Before retiring to SilverCity seventeen years ago, Maria Vigil taught bilingual education from kindergarten through university in California. She was the Educator of the Year and National Educator of the Year. Ms. Vigil is currently an international translator.
This is a great time to bring to visit the Museum and see the new exhibit, A Vessel by Any Other Name, and have family fun at the activity stations for children.
The SilverCityMuseum creates opportunities for residents and visitors to explore, understand, and celebrate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of southwestern New Mexico by collecting, preserving, researching and interpreting the region’s unique history. For more information, please contact the Museum at (575) 538-5921, info@silvercitymuseum.org, or go to the Museum’s website www.silvercitymuseum.org.
