The Silver City area boasts plenty of activities for sport and play: a golf course, ample tennis courts, great cycling (including a world class bicycle race), a bowling alley, skateboarding park, and plenty of opportunities for ATV and motorcycle use. Get ready to play!

Silver City Golf Course:  Visitors are sometimes surprised to find that Silver City has a lovely, 18 hole golf course just a short drive from downtown. Featuring very affordable daily passes, a golf shop, lessons and regular tournaments.

Public Tennis Courts: Silver City has 2 tennis complexes. The WNMU campus has 6 public courts and the Town of Silver City has 8 public courts. WNMU’s tennis team welcomes the public to watch matches by the Men’s and Women’s teams. With our mild weather, outdoor tennis is possible nearly all year.

Cycling: Grant County has some of the best year-around cycling in the southwest. There are river valleys, mountains and outstanding scenery. The roads are lightly traveled and great for road bikes and there are plenty of forest roads and trails for mountain bikes. In town, more and more bike lanes are being developed, too. And of course, we host the world class Tour of the Gila bike race. For more information on bicycling in Grant County, click here.
Bowling: Silver Bowling Center offers 16 lanes of bowling, a restaurant, game room, a complete line of bowling accessories, big screen TV, and automatic scorers. Featuring the “best hamburgers around” and beer & wine.

Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) riding: There are many opportunities for Off Highway (ATV and Motorcycle) riding in Grant County. The Gila National Forest (but not the Gila Wilderness) allows responsible riding on existing roads. According to “As an OHV rider, it is your responsibility to know and abide by regulations relating to motor vehicle travel. State law requires registration and insurance of all motor vehicles before being operated on public lands.
