A two-day celebration of fiber art! Vendors of fine fiber art and supplies. Classes and workshops will include pine needle basket making, embroidered paper-greeting cards, Japanese folding book, colcha embroidery, Native American talking sticks, and much more.
Demonstrations include bed turnings, basket making, beading on textiles and more. Lectures include sewing with handwoven fabric, textile care and preservation and more. Special exhibits of dolls, quilts, wearable art garments, baskets, handmade books and many more. Make and take projects make this a whole family event.
The 2011 festival will be November 11 and 12 in the Grant County Convention Center, 3031 Highway 180 East in Silver City. Doors are open from 10 am to 5 pm each day. Admission is free, although donations to support this annual event are welcome and appreciated.
